Words of Wisdom

Matt. 6:19-20 - Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.

1 John 4:16 - And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

1 Cor: 13:4-8 - Love is patient, kind, doesn't envy, doesn't boast, is not proud, is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not easily angered, does not keep a record of wrongs, does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth, always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres, and never fails.

Step 7 ~ Surrender

Oregon Coast

Surrendering is an act of giving up, giving away, and letting go.

Being able to truly surrender false beliefs is when you don't have an attachment to the false belief you're surrendering.

If there is an attachment then it isn't really a surrender, but an inner hope that God or some higher Spirit Being will take away what you are trying to surrender.

Often times, when a person turns to God to surrender something about themselves, it is not a complete surrender, due to the person not having gone through the process of truly taking the time to get to the core issue of the very thing they don't want in their life any more.

Such as, the example of the lady who slipped and fell on the ice. If she were to say she surrendered the false belief of her being stupid for having fallen on the ice, I'm sure we would all believe her. But lets say two weeks from now she trips and falls off her porch and then verbally exclaims how stupid she was. We would all know that she was not someone who truly surrendered the false belief of being stupid.

This is what happens to those people who falsely surrender to God those things they don't want in their lives. It is very important to take the steps that lead up to being able to surrender then to skip them and have to go back and deal with them again later.

This page is the next step on the path of healing, which is Surrendering the false beliefs that created the inner wounds.

How to Surrender to God

It's important to know how to Surrender to God, because when you know of the law of Free-Will, then it's best to know what God can take from you and what God won't take, because he will not take against your Free-Will. And even though a person might verbally say they surrender something, God hears the heart of the person and whatever the heart of the person says, God respects due to the law of Free-Will.

When I started working on the path of healing. I had no idea how to Surrender anything to God. I was told time and time again to surrender things about myself to God, but no one would tell me the simple question of "How do I do that?" In my mind, I can see myself giving away something that is a materialistic object, such as a basketball. But how does a person give away something they can't see, and if you can't see it, then how do you know you gave it away?

When I would ask, no one seemed to know how. Which I found a bit strange, because these people would talk about surrendering this or that to God, but they could never explain how they surrendered. So, it made me doubt that they really did surrender and were just pretending they did, when they really didn't.

But during all that time, I continued to work on healing my inner wounds, but still trying to figure out how to surrender to God those blocks that were keeping me from Being More I AM. The answer finally came to me when I learned an absolute Truth about myself, and this absolute Truth let me see that a certain belief I had about myself, for most of all my life, was all an illusion that came from a lie told to me by my dad. I was very young at the time and I believed him and took this belief about myself as being part of the whole of who I thought was me.

When I learned of this truth about myself, it was almost this instant feeling of taking ownership of that lie and then becoming unattached to it. I found myself laughing about it, and so much that I was able to surrender that false belief from being able to just see the humor in how I had carried that false belief around with me for all those years and then to find out it was all a big fat life.

The Truth Will Set you Free

You will know when you have surrendered to God is when you have learned a Truth about yourself that will create this "AH Ha" moment for you and that is when you will see through the illusion of a false belief you may have thought was who you were, but never was.

When you learn certain Truth of who you truly are, you can't be fooled in those areas any more, not from people in your past, present or future. Because the Truth sets you free to be who you truly are in the areas you learn the Truth about yourself.

As you continue to heal the different false beliefs, you will learn more and more Truth that will continue to Free you from the false beliefs, and then one day you will find yourself completely Free from all of those false beliefs.

So before you attempt to surrender to God those false beliefs, they must be replaced with Truth, once you know the Truth the false belief becomes insignificant and loses its grip on you. The path of learning the Truth is based on the steps to healing. Which is you will first have an awakening, followed with determination, which is then followed with acceptance, responsibility, ownership, un attachment and then finally being able to surrender.

It is so true of how the Truth will set a person free. It sets you free from the false beliefs that create the emotional and mental pain one carries with them. But if a person isn't willing to face up to their false beliefs, they will keep stuffing them and pretend they aren't there, which will only prolong the healing and being able to finally surrender those things that keeps a person trapped in not being Free to Be who they Truly Are.

Discovering the Truth

How you discover the Truth about yourself is by exposing the false beliefs with the Truth that is just waiting for you to find it. And so you discover the Truth by answering the questions of.....

Who?
What?
When?
Where?
Why?
How?

Each of those questions applies to each false belief that comes up for you.

As you answer each question, you would be going into your past to find the answers knowing that your goal is to find the Truth, because that Truth you find is the key that will set you free from the false beliefs.

Each step you take will lead you through those questions, not all the questions may apply to you, but most will.

So the process goes like this.

The first step will be the awakening, which is an "Ah Ha"moment, which will be followed with a choice of you taking up the determination to see through to the completion of the healing from a false belief.

That will lead you into the third step which is you accepting the fact that you accepted the false belief. So, when you answer the questions, you would be answering them based on the who, what, when, where, why and how you chose to accept the false belief.

Then you continue on into taking responsibility for the who, what, when, where, why and how you are responsible for each false belief.

You will then go into the next step of taking ownership, which is answering the who, what, when, where, why, and how you own the false beliefs.

Which will finally take you into the two steps of becoming unattached and finally being able to surrender the false beliefs, because as you learn the Truth about yourself and the history for each false belief you will find that you are becoming more and more Free from them.

Perpetual Surrender

The path of Perpetual Surrender is when you are constantly learning new truths about yourself, the world you live in, and the things that are of God and then choosing to Be that Truth in every part of your life.

It is important to come from a pure state of Being as you continue the path of healing, and do not deny who you are even when you still have false beliefs about yourself. The goal is to Be who you are every step of the way, so that those false beliefs can one day be seen by you so you can go to work on eradicating those false beliefs.

So, you are always in a state of constantly surrendering yourself to Being who you are with and without the True beliefs, with or without the false beliefs. The more you learn the truth about yourself, the less you will be who you are from the part of you that is based on the false beliefs.

The direction the steps of healing will take you is for you to Be who You Truly are and that is Being More I AM, which is Being More God, because as Jesus said 2,000 years ago. "Ye are gods." and God is Love, which means "Ye are Love."

Remember always, that the ultimate goal when on the path of healing is eradicating the false beliefs so you can Be who you truly are, which is Love.
