"In reality, you are who you are, namely a spiritual being. However, at the level of your soul, you are who you think you are. So stop thinking that you are an imperfect being and accept your true identity as a spiritual being. Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father in Heaven is perfect."

What if the ego decides that it is in fact a perfect spiritual being?
The ego would like that, would it not? It would have the perfect opportunity to glorify itself and an instant means of justification for any & all of its thoughts & actions.

Does this present us with a problem as regards the understanding of the Conscious You?

It does not - for the ego is an individualization of the duality consciousness. The duality consciousness is of necessity a facet of the consciousness of separation from God. Only within the consciousness of separation from God, our common Source, does the duality consciousness make any sense, formal or otherwise.

Since the ego exists only within the consciousness of separation from God it follows of necessity that any ego-conception of God or the Divine will be absolute illusion, for the ego cannot ever understand God or the Divine.

It is indeed true that by the pre-personal power of the Conscious You the ego is what it thinks it is... it is what IT thinks it is.
Therefore if the ego thinks it is "divine", that "divinity" will be limited to the ego-understanding of divinity - which understanding is precisely nil. The ego can never have any understanding of divinity because the very ground of its existence is separation from divinity.

Similarly, if the ego were to think itself to be "perfect" - perfection cannot be understood in separation from God. Thus the ego thinking itself "perfect" is meaningless.

Perhaps the most amazing thing of all about the reality of the Conscious You is this eternal truth:

whoever you think you are - you are more!

Hi John,

I liked what you said about the Conscious You and the ego. I know there are those who think in terms of black and white and don't quite understand the concept of the Conscious You in that it IS what it thinks it IS, even when the person lives from the human ego. And so, your post can really help to explain the More of the Conscious You in terms of a person living from the ego.

For me, just when I start to relax after just having a victory over something in my life, I get that inner pulling and then my mind can't relax because I have to find out what that pulling feeling is trying to tell me, which it's telling me that it's time to let go of an illusion and to take another higher step. And the thing is is that over the years, I find that there is some tiny little thing that will come to my attention that I think is no big deal, but once I work through that part of myself and come up higher, that pulling feeling goes away until I start to relax and think everything is A OKAY. And then the jig is up and that pulling feeling starts back up.

So, even though a person with an ego may think it is what it IS, the person will wake up one day and see that who they thought they were was just an illusion, and that they were always MORE then who they thought they were, and will continue to be MORE, but at every step they are who they are.

Hi Janise,

Yes the ego will definitely morph into anything we are striving for and create an outer alternative for it.

If we go for it, we are robed of an experience because without full awareness of what is happening, especially so when it happens as an outside condition or an event that takes place outside of us, we are left with the reaction only, so we don´t have the full creative impact because the cause remains hidden.
So we learn little. We cannot learn with ego that steals and consumes oure awareness of the creative joy in the flow.

So yes, the ego will produce a perfect person, but this is not experienced, it is only copied.
But it is easy to find out, because every one of God´s blessings is associated and holds a sense of Joy and Peace.

So we just need to see how joyous we live our life in order to determine where we stand, whether we can believe our ego telling us that we have reached a sufficient degree of perfection to allow us some rest or whether we need another expansion to come into our joy.
The truth is, we have never made it and even the joy that we experience will grow more each time. So it never ends, but when we touch it, when we really touch it, we will want more of it for sure and the outer world can hold us no more!

But it is true, we can be whatever we want because all that we are does not depend on anything because consciousness has not limits. It just depends on our creative potential that we either use or forfeit because we have accepted some limitation or illusion.

So it is indeed possible to open one´s heart to the joy and sweet love of the heart and have it stream out continuously without strain and struggle.

So as we do this, we come into the joy of asking ourselves, what feeling do I like to maintain, how big do I create myself as a recepient for the Spiritual Host to do what is needed.
And most of all, all of this is their Power, their Joy and Love that they have made ours to enjoy and we pour it into the world.
It is flowing from them, but it feels like ours because they have made it one with our life through our consciousness and in this manner we grow beyond what otherwise is possible by the outer self.

Remember, that when we feel pushed to do anything, it is some ego in us that keeps us pushing, because the sharing with the Presences is effortless and always joyful, it neither pulls nor pushes, it just comes in and then loves itself through us.

So let us tear down the conditions and resistances to the direct experience of the Masters in us. By simply allowing us the grace that we can indeed be with them and enjoy them being in our hearts.
The only thing that stands between the full realization of this is our fear of ONEness with them, something that exists because our ego hates to die.

So the question is, how much do we love our own death, the death of that which keeps us from experiencing all the joys in heaven down here on earth, being our little ego.

So let us love it out of our worlds and have more of the more enjoyable aspects of life.
