Words of Wisdom

Eccl. 1:6-7 - The wind blows to the south and turns to the north; round and round it goes, ever returning on its course. All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full. To the place the streams come from, there they return again.

Eccl. 1:8-9 All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing. What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.

Eph. 4:6 - One God and father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Acts 17:28 - In him we live, and move, and have our Beings.

Luke 17:21 - Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Php. 2:5 - Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.

Chapter One - Being in the Moment

I AM LOVE

Being in the moment is about focusing your attention on exactly what your doing while being in a state of consciousness of peace, appreciation, gratitude, joy, Love, harmony and the like.

Being in the moment is something you work up to, it's not something you force yourself to being able to do in the early stages of the path of Self-Transcendence.

It can take years to reach the level of where you are able to keep your attention on what you're doing at all times while having that inner peace within yourself. I believe it's important to know about this stage of Being much sooner then later when on the path of Self-Transcendence. You might be wondering Why?

The path of Self-Transcendence is taken in baby steps, and when you first start out on the path, you soon learn that you have been living from the human consciousness. It is a slow process of rising above the human consciousness and living fully from the Christ Consciousness. But little by little, as you continue on the path of Self-Transcendence, you'll find that you're constantly replacing human beliefs with Christ Truths. Which over time as you continue to transcend your former state of consciousness, you'll find yourself living fully from the Christ Consciousness. And then from there, as you continue to take even higher steps, you will eventually find yourself living from the God consciousness.

God is Love, Divine Love, unconditional Love. The feeling of Love is appreciation, Gratitude, harmony, joy, peace, and when you live from the God consciousness you will feel in your Being absolute Pure Bliss. When you are not Being in the Moment, you will not have those feelings of Love in your Being.

You can use this step of Being in the Moment as a tool to use though out your entire path of Self-Transcendence, because every time something takes you away from feeling Diving Love in your Being, you will know it's a block that needs to go bye-bye. Which over time you will find that less and less takes you out of Being in the moment.

NOTE: The following was taken from the original page of Being, which I changed to Being in the moment, and rewrote some of the material. I felt some changes needed to be made due to some emails I received from people who were trying to Be in the moment too early on their path of Self-Transcendence. And not using it as a tool for being able to spot the blocks that come up in them that keep them from Being in the moment. Which before I referred to it as the second step, but not to master it that soon.

Doing vs Being in the Moment

The world we live in seems to be a very busy place, where people are rushing here and there of trying to meet the days demands. I know there are many people who live busy lives where their jobs and family demand a lot of their time and energy. Which these people are constantly thinking about what their next tasks are, but how many of these people ever stop to just enjoy the moment and enjoy who they are right now in their lives, and give thanks to God for the blessing of Life.

You might be one of those busy people who are always on the go, and you could be thinking of how you can take the time to just be in the moment and still be on the go at the same time. Well, you can. You start out taking baby steps towards Being in the moment. Such as on your days off you can find something you enjoy doing, such as a hobby, and work on keeping your attention on that while paying attention to how you're feeling.

One of my favorite hobbies is putting furniture together, and finding old pieces of furniture and fixing them up so they look new again. I have been known to spend many hours working on just fixing up one piece of furniture and never having any other thoughts come to mind, it's as if the world had disappeared and I had died and went to heaven. But if I was doing something like washing the dishes, that would be a different story. I had never liked washing dishes and to me there is not much fun in washing dishes and I rather be doing something else. So, it was always easy for my mind to wander on other things I'd rather be doing, or on things that I also needed to be working on. And so I would rush to get the dishes washed so I could be done with them and then I would be on to the next task.

State of Consciousness

I'm sure if you thought about things you like doing vs things you don't like doing but have to, you'll find that you take on two different mind sets. So, when you are working towards Being in the moment, your goal is to be in the same mind set as when you are doing the things you like as when you are doing things you don't like. So, your end goal is to work on staying in the one mind set at all times.

Such as, for me, the first thing of Being in the moment I worked on was to find something about washing dishes that gave me the same feelings I had when putting a piece of furniture together. So, I had to find something about washing dishes that I could appreciate, which I found that the warm water on my hands felt nice. So I focused my attention on appreciating the warm water and that gave me the same feelings of appreciation I had when putting a piece of furniture together, which gave me the ability to stay in the moment while washing the dishes.

By finding something about washing dishes I could appreciate, it put me in the same mind set as when I put furniture together. Which I've used this method in many other areas of my life, which it was very slow going and I'm still working on areas of my life I can find ways of Being in the moment. Which is finding something in every area of your life that you can have that feeling of appreciation in your Being of what you're doing right now.

A Story about Boredom

When I was younger I had worked in a hospital in the medical records department. The job was great in the mornings as it was very busy, but in the afternoons, beginning at about 3 PM, things calmed down and there wasn't anything to do as my services weren't needed, but I needed to be in the office just incase someone needed my services. Quitting time was 4:30 PM. So every day starting at around 3 PM, I would sit at my desk waiting to be needed by someone. It was quite boring and I would find that I would spend the last hour and a half just staring up at the clock.

Then one day, I had gotten so bored I started day dreaming about being at home making myself something to eat and then going for a walk where I was doing something. And it seemed this day dream went on for a long time, but when I came out of the day dream, I looked at the clock and only 2 minutes had gone by! I was thinking that more time should have gone by than that! So, I knew that day dreaming wasn't going to help speed time up. Most of the times when I was at work, the only kind of Being I wanted to be in, was being in the moment of taking a nap. I got to a point where I couldn't take the boredom any more, because it was draining the life and energy right out of me. So, one day I went to the boss and talked to him and asked if he could move me to a different department, which he was kind enough to give me a better area of the hospital to work in.

You could say that in a way, my job in the late afternoons was causing for me to be out of Being, because I wasn't doing anything to be able to be in the moment where I could appreciate what I was doing, because I wasn't doing anything but waiting.

I'm sure there have been many of us who have found ourselves in a waiting room at a doctors office, where minutes seem like hours and hours seem like days. It's very hard Being when you're waiting. People want to be doing something, and feel the need to be doing something all the time. And we even make schedules of things we need to be doing after we get done with what we are doing in the now. So, when we go to places where we know we will be waiting, we will often times take a book or a puzzle book so we will have something to do while waiting. Heaven forbid if we didn't bring something for us to do as we would get bored, and no one likes to be bored. I don't.

Being in the Moment while waiting

So, how can we Be when we find ourselves in a position where we are waiting?

When you think about it, waiting is in a way Doing, because we are doing something which is waiting. So, we should be able to find something in the moment to appreciate while waiting. We have a creative side to ourselves, and we don't need to be physically doing something to be creative, we can be creative with our minds. Which when I find myself waiting and time starts to drag on. I think about all the things in my life, the good things in my life that I am grateful for and I relive those moments. It's kind of like Day Dreaming, but it's more like a controlled Day dream.

The more I feel grateful for the good things in my life, the more appreciative I feel. You might find yourself laughing and smiling as you recall these past memories. You see, when we are in a good mood, time goes by much faster, so the time it takes to wait doesn't seem like that long at all. You may not even feel the need to even look at the clock or your watch while you're waiting. I am grateful for the job I had that bored me, because when I look back I can see how the job I had taught me how I could have been in Being while waiting. But at the time, I didn't know any better, I do now though, so I know how to be in the moment while doing something like waiting. And what works for another can work for you as well.

Distractions from Being in the Moment

It is a very good idea to know what takes you out of Being in the moment. So, when you notice you're out of being, you can take notice of it and look more into what is taking you out of Being in the moment. And then you can go to work on transcending that area of your life.

It can take years to finally get to a point where you are able to Be in the moment at all times. So a person would want to use this as a tool to help guide them through the path of Self-Transcendence. As it's not something a person can begin living from over night. But there are ways to work on Being in the moment as you live your life, which most of us live our lives with many things that distracts us from what we are currently doing. Which if that is the case, you would want to work on being ok with yourself to stop what your focused on now to take care of what is distracting you while being able to shift your focus over to the thing that distracted you.

I have birds, an my birds are always in demand of my attention. And often times when I'm working around the house, such as washing the dishes, I have to stop to attend to my birds before I can return to washing the dishes again. But when I stop to attend to my birds, I do not think about getting back to washing the dishes. I stay in the moment of being with my birds and tending to their needs. So, once their needs are met, my attention then goes back to washing the dishes, and I can at the same time have an ear open incase my birds need my attention focused on them again. So in those moments I am still Being in the moment, because what takes me out of Being in one moment, can still bring me back to Being in another moment, such as when I stop to take care of the thing that takes me out of Being, which in this case, I'm Being in the moment while washing the dishes, which I stop being in that moment to Be in the moment with my birds.

It's the same if you have children, you would have an ear open for your children while at the same time Being in the moment of washing the dishes. But lets say your children were being too quiet and you were unable to keep your attention on exactly what you were doing such as focusing on washing dishes. You would need to stop washing dishes to see what your children were doing. As you are going to see what your children are doing, your attention is on your children not on washing the dishes. So, once you checked on your children your mind is free to go back to focusing on washing the dishes.

As you can see, we can Be in the moment no matter what we are doing, even when having to stop what we are doing to take care of something else. It really doesn't matter what we are doing in our present as long as we are able to focus our attention on Being in that moment without our attention wondering off on other things, such as thinking about other things we need to be doing.

It's a Gradual Path

So, Being in the moment is the second step you want to know about when being on the path of Self-Transcendence, which is keeping your attention on what is in the now with being at peace within yourself, of appreciating the moment.

Again, please use this as a tool to guide yourself on the path of Self-Transcendence so you know when you're not Being in the moment and when you are Being in the moment. When I began working on Being in the moment, The first thing I did when I started working on Being in the moment. I spent time just observing the things I would be doing and paying attention to those thoughts that came up in my consciousness that took me out of Being in the moment. Such as my mind wondering on the many other things I needed to be doing, and feeling like I needed to hurry up, or thinking about how I didn't want to be doing what I was doing instead of finding something I could appreciate.

I'm still working on Being in each moment of my life, but there isn't as much that is out of Being about my life any more. It took a lot of time, work and patience to continue eradicating the blocks that were in my life. So, for you and if you're just starting out, it will seem like a lot of work you're doing to Be in the moment, but the more you work on removing the blocks from your life, you'll find that you will stay in Being more and more in the moment without thinking about it and will become effortless on your part. And if at times you do find yourself out of Being in the moment, then just stop and bring yourself back to Being in the moment.

There are many things that can take us out of Being in the moment, which I've devoted an entire section on this website of what opposes our Beings, called blocks to Being More I AM. So the more we know what takes us out of Being, the more we will be able to eradicate those things so it will make it easier for us to stay in Being.

It is a Gradual path towards Being in the moment, and it does take baby steps towards Being in the moment, but as long as you work a little bit each day in your life, you will be that much closer to Being in the moment at all times.
